Once again, this is a lesson better learned while warming up than in an actual painting. If I had spent more of the time refining my line drawing, I would have had a stronger form on which to add light and shadow. Each bite-sized video covers a different concept, allowing you to learn complex subjects in manageable increments.

To search the menus, press Alt + / (Windows, Chrome OS) or Option + / (Mac). Ctrl+Paint is a free learning resource dedicated to the basics of digital painting. To see a list of keyboard shortcuts in Google Sheets, press Ctrl + / (Windows, Chrome OS) or + / (Mac). Note: Some shortcuts might not work for all languages or keyboards. Another problem was that I progressed from line to value too quickly. Use keyboard shortcuts in Google Sheets to navigate, format, and use formulas. For the sake of the recording, I did not flip the image at all and you can see the problems it caused. A good way to avoid these problems is to flip the canvas (horizontally) every so often - this gives you a fresh look at your subject. When I work on something with higher stakes, I'll be on the lookout for these anatomical issues. When you're in the moment, it's easy to miss these things - but that's fine! Now that I'm warmed up, and aware of these issues, I'm ready to approach an actual painting. In this case I can look at the result and see that there are perspective issues with the horns and a general asymmetry in the face. At least that way people will know "how it works".Sometimes the best way to target your problem spots is to make a quick drawing and be very critical afterwards.

If you can't do anything better to fix the bug (which appears to have existed in various forms for several years), add a warning when entering texture paint mode explaining how to save your work properly. To be blunt, nobody who loses work cares that it "works that way by design". Please consider prioritizing it according to it's impact, which is very significant. Please think about this bug not from the perspective of a knowledgeable user or developer, but instead from the perspective of a novice user. Literally, the action of saving my work in fact discarded it! In a more recent build of blender from source, Blender at least waited until I exited after saving to silently discard my work. As a user who imported an FBX file, and then worked in texture paint mode for several hours only to have "Save As." silently discard my work, this is undoubtedly a serious bug.
I understand that internal discussions about what's stored where, and what kinds of tickets are assigned to which developers are both valid concerns.
I realize the current behaviour is "by design" to an extent but IMO making sure the user's work is safe is of utmost importance. I've lost a couple hours' worth of work because of this behaviour. I'm filing this as a design issue but this is actually a borderline bug. Hit texture paint, add diffuse slot and paint a few strokes.Blender should either A) offer an "autosave" feature to keep the packed texture saved or B) feature a prompt that warns the user that the painted texture will be lost unless saved. With texture paint so neatly integrated to Blender (it's really pretty good!), an average user reasonably expects ctrl + s to save not just the model, but the texture he/she has been working on. At the very least, there should be a prompt to warn the user that the painted texture has not been saved one way or the other. blend file, Blender doesn't save the texture (even if the texture file is packed). If you are painting on a texture in texture paint mode and save the.
